this was unnecessary。 out of all the Shakespeare plays, why choose this one for fifteen year olds to read?? hamlet, macbeth, or king lear would have been SO much better for freshman high schoolers。 this was just dissecting big chunks of words which romeo or juliet serenaded to each other, and it didn’t feel like anyone really got into the play because it was so。。 uncomfy?? i don’t know。 i love Shakespeare and he’s a mastermind but this was a poor choice of the school board。。。

Seriously, can we give more than 5 stars?

15th century teenagers act exactly like 21st century teenagers would。 This is one of those stories that sounds so profound and heart-wrenching when read at a young age but as you get older you just want to clip them round the ear and tell them to go back and finish their homework。 And the amount of pining and whining oh Lord! How about no 15th century teenagers act exactly like 21st century teenagers would。 This is one of those stories that sounds so profound and heart-wrenching when read at a young age but as you get older you just want to clip them round the ear and tell them to go back and finish their homework。 And the amount of pining and whining oh Lord! How about no 。。。more

I thought I'd have more feelings when I'll read it, but I barely had any feelings beside how dramatic the story was for me。 It's written in a more difficult language, it was a little bit more difficult to read it, but all in all, I think it's not by accident that it's a very famous story。 Thanks for that to William Shakespeare。 I thought I'd have more feelings when I'll read it, but I barely had any feelings beside how dramatic the story was for me。 It's written in a more difficult language, it was a little bit more difficult to read it, but all in all, I think it's not by accident that it's a very famous story。 Thanks for that to William Shakespeare。 。。。more

i read it for school lol so like i really didn't expect to love it (as school makes me hate pretty much every book)for the media attention and love expectations we get from r&j, as the "ultimate" love story。 i felt like they didn't really get to know each other。 obviously they lived in a very different time and it isn't fair to compare them to the kind of relationships we see now, it felt kinda empty。 like the book went so fast, one second, they don't know each other and the next, their married。 i read it for school lol so like i really didn't expect to love it (as school makes me hate pretty much every book)for the media attention and love expectations we get from r&j, as the "ultimate" love story。 i felt like they didn't really get to know each other。 obviously they lived in a very different time and it isn't fair to compare them to the kind of relationships we see now, it felt kinda empty。 like the book went so fast, one second, they don't know each other and the next, their married。 overall, it was an experience lol 。。。more
